A Saucy Goat

Dead Ever After: A Sookie Stackhouse Novel (Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood)

Dead Ever After - Charlaine Harris ...if only it were possible to give zero stars...

Prince Joe (Tall, Dark and Dangerous Series #1)

Prince Joe - Suzanne Brockmann Short and cute, but not very memorable. It was a nice quick read - a very sappy type of romance. The characters were nice {nice and boring}. Good for a quick afternoon read.

Killbox (Sirantha Jax Series #4)

Killbox - Ann Aguirre Rarely do I find myself reading a book slowly just so that I can savor it, but that's what I found myself doing as I read Killbox. Definitely one of my favorites in a series I've come to love.

Me, Myself and Why? - MaryJanice Davidson I received this book as a Goodreads giveaway winner. Cadence is a woman who suffers multiple personality disorder and works in a department in the FBI that hires only people with mental disorders. It's a strange premise, but this is MaryJanice Davidson so I figured I was in for a fast and light-hearted ride. I actually didn't have too much trouble with the jumping between Cadence and her "sisters," Shiro and Adrienne, once I figured out who was who. The book started out okay and had a constant string of quirky characters. However, a lot of things that could have had more potential just fell flat - the romance with the baker, the reasoning behind why they were killers, and being able to turn what is really a ridiculous premise into something funnier. It started with a lot of potential, and I read through it quickly. It's definitely original and I would love to see how she further develops the story in the next two books of this trilogy.

A Touch of Scandal

A Touch of Scandal - Jennifer Haymore I won this book on GR and was glad I did. It's not normally a book that I would have picked up at the bookstore, but I enjoyed it. I tend to find historical romances boring, but A Touch of Scandal had enough surprises and twists to keep me guessing and turning the pages.

Private Demon (Darkyn Series #2)

Private Demon - Lynn Viehl I just can't seem to get into this series. The characters, even the had-a-tortured-past male story that I've loved in other books, was rather boring. It took me forever to finish this book, and I found myself stopping reading for days - especially when I got to a John part of the book. I wish I liked this series but I don't know that I'll read more after trudging so hard through the first two.
Demon Kissed - Patti O'Shea cute short!
Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, Book 5) - Richelle Mead I love this series and this book wasn't disappointing so much as it was absolutely heart-breaking. Dimitri being saved was amazing and I liked that he didn't just bounce back. He has a lot of his own issues to work out, as much as it hurt to see him and Rose have such a tough time with each other. And, of course, Rose. Rose has a tough road ahead of her {hmmm. . .as well as behind her} with the trial and finding Lissa's long lost sibling. A lot of this book seemed to be a set up for book 6. Thank goodness we don't have to wait a whole year for that one. Adrian was easy to fall in love with in this book. It's not an easy book for him either - what with Rose's ex and love interest coming back to life. The book was great, just like the rest of the series - but it was heartbreaking.

Magic Bleeds (Kate Daniels Series #4)

Magic Bleeds - Ilona Andrews This series is definitely at the top of my list for favorites. Even with all the build up and waiting, Magic Bleeds did not disappoint. This book seems to begin the massive build up to the final showdown with Roland so a lot happened. We get to meet a blood relative of Kate's for the first time and it was spectacular! What I loved the most about that interaction is that you really get to see how much Kate has changed and grown since the first book. She has a little family of loved ones now and she really embraces that in this book instead of fighting being close to others. Magic Bleeds had some really great scenes throughout, but most especially with Kate and Curran. Their interactions are hilarious and heartbreaking and heartwarming! It was extremely satisfying to watch them work with each other to build their relationship {FINALLY!}.

Dead in the Family (Sookie Stackhouse/True Blood, Book 10)

Dead in the Family - Charlaine Harris I loved this one. It's probably up there in my favorites for this series along with Dead to the World. A lot of time was spent with characters we love, Eric and Sam and Jason {and Pam! Pam is such a fabulous character!}, and getting to know characters we didn't, especially Claude. It's good to finally see Sookie and Eric's relationship move on. The love triangle was getting tiring, but that is no longer there. Enjoyed the family focus of this book a lot.

The Amoveo Legacy

The Amoveo Legacy - Sara Taney-Humphreys I love a good paranormal romance and this one was super sweet. Sam and Malcolm were cute and playful with each other. I loved their interaction. The world created was great and I really wanted to learn more about it. I can't wait to find out more about it in the next installment.
Murphy's Law - Sandy James I love a good love story and this was cute. I adored Katie and was really rooting for her. The relationship between Sam and Brian was also incredibly endearing. A cute love story that's perfect for relaxing on a rainy day.

Jacob (The Nightwalkers, Book 1)

Jacob - Jacquelyn Frank I was pleasantly surprised with this book. The world built was a great read. It's a different spin on a demon species. The wording was always drawn out and flowery, but once I ignored that I fell in love with the world of Jacob and Bella.
The Chosen Sin - Anya Bast It was just okay. I like Anya Bast and was really hoping to like this one. I had a hard time getting into it. "Valerie" was really annoying me most of the time and I found myself not caring too much about their mission to uncover Sante's secrets. There was also lack of a world. It's taking place in this Chosen city haven, but the description of it is lacking. The betrayal is almost handed to you throughout the book. There's nothing that stood out and grabbed me or kept me intrigued.
